Rick Moranis Randomly Assaulted While Walking Home In Upper West Side Of New York

The New York Post reported today that Rick Moranis, the Honey I Shrunk The Kids actor, was assaulted in an incident captured on video in the Upper West Side this week. Law enforcement sources spoke with The Post about the altercation on Friday, the 2nd of October.

According to the outlet, the 67-year-old actor was on his way home around 7:30 am when a stranger walked up to him and slugged him seemingly without cause. The police got their hands on the video. Rick went to the hospital not long after for medical treatment.

The police haven’t nabbed the individual yet but Rick did file a report. Fans of Moranis know he appeared in some of the biggest comedy movies of the 1980s and the 1990s, including Ghostbusters, Spaceballs, and Strange Brew.

Moranis, ever since appearing in the Honey I Shrunk The Kids movie in 1989 as well as its following sequels in the 1990s, has all but disappeared from the spotlight. Back in 2005, Moranis earned a Grammy nomination for his comedy record, The Agoraphobic Cowboy.

During his conversation with reporters from ABC News, Rick said it was a country music record, and there were a “couple of melodies that are ok.” And in 2013, he released another comedy record called My Brother’s Brisket and Other Love Songs.

Moranis later did an interview with Heeb Magazine in which he said he didn’t really like to travel because he liked being at home. Rick said he enjoyed living his life by himself, including consuming all kinds of art like films, music, and more.

According to Moranis, he’s not a big fan of going out to restaurants either because they put too much butter and salt in the food, and when he takes it out, it ends up not being that tasty in the end. Rick said he “wasn’t always like this,” and certainly wouldn’t recommend the lifestyle to a young person.

Reportedly, after a long time away from the spotlight, the actor will return to the screen once again for Disney’s sequel to Honey I Shrunk The Kids. The sequel will be called Shrunk, and it will star Josh Gad from Frozen.
