Destiny 2: Festival of the Lost Trailer Shows Off Revamped Rewards

Destiny 2’s annual Halloween event, Festival of the Lost, returns October 6 and Bungie has just released a new trailer showing off all of those (previously leaked) ‘spooky’ rewards for Guardians to earn. We trick and treat in the name of Cayde. Do it for the puppies, and the loot.

Festival of the Lost is nothing new but it is my personal favorite out of all of the Destiny 2 events. With Halloween-themed rewards and new activities, it’s a fun reason to dive in and celebrate all things ‘spoopy’ while continuing on that daily grind.

With Beyond Light on the horizon and the complete shakeup of content available, this year’s Festival of the Lost is kicking off a little earlier than usual. The festivities begin on October 6 and will last until November 3, giving a week buffer in between the event itself and the release of the upcoming expansion.

Missed out on last year’s event? No worries, you can still unlock the older masks repping some of our favorite faces in-game while also earning new designs as well. For those that want more weapons, the Braytech Werewolf and Horror Story are both making their triumphant return as well, though with updated perks.

New to Destiny? Here’s what you need to know about Festival of the Lost: this event centers around celebrating and honoring those lost in previous wars. The accompanying event takes place in Mercury’s Infinite Forest, called the Haunted Forest, plagued by ghastly appararitions.

It is in the Haunted Forest that players must make their way through hordes of nightmares for a chance at sweet, sweet Halloween-themed gear and cosmetics. Another thing to note? If you have friends that play, you will want to group with them for communication. The Haunted Forest is procedurally generated with various branches of the forest itself to clear of nightmares. The more areas cleared means better rewards, so sync up with fellow guardians you can talk to in order to take more tactical approach at the treat portion of in-game trick-or-treating.

Destiny 2: Festival of the Lost begins on October 6 for all platforms. Are you excited to get spooky once more? What do you think about this year’s rewards? Sound off with your thoughts in the comment section below and tell us what you think!
