The Mighty Caravan Brutosaur Mount Has Already Been Spotted For The First Time In World Of Warcraft’s Black Market Auction House

It didn’t take too long – the recently-removed Mighty Caravan Brutosaur Mount, also known as “Longboi,” has been added to the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Black Market Auction House.

We recently discussed the changes that are coming to the Black Market Auction House, namely the new items that would be appearing. Among those was the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur, which was available throughout Battle for Azeroth.

Still, it hadn’t yet been seen until recently. The mount was spotted floating around at its original asking price of 5,000,000 gold.

The Black Market Auction House is unique in that players do no vendoring or selling on this auction house. Instead, Blizzard puts items up at a pre-set price, with the developers being the only vendors for the show.

Additionally, players are not able to buy out anything on the Black Market Auction House like they can for the normal auction house. Blizzard sets a starting bid, and players bid accordingly, hoping to be the last to chip in on an item.

That isn’t to say it’s unlimited, of course – the auction house has a capped bid of 9,999,999g. This is just below the gold cap for a single character, so the maximum bid is essentially the maximum amount anyone could bid anyway.

Players are a bit disappointed to see the mount popping up for the original asking price of 5,000,000 gold, which was what it vendored for before being removed. Many were hoping the bids would start lower to give others a chance to bid.

However, it’s a bit of a moot point, as you can practically guarantee that the mount is going to end up being bid for much higher than that. Players were willing to pay the 5,000,000g asking price for it when it was available, so why stop now?

The asking price, obviously, is a bit insane. The real-world equivalent is a bit hard to say, since each realm has its own economy, but 5,000,000 gold is mind-bogglingly high for the average player.

For context, players can typically buy a WoW token off the auction house – an item that can be redeemed for 30 days of playing time (a $15 value) – for around 115,00-140,000 gold. It varies per realm, but this is a decently accurate range.

That means that – assuming the token is at about 140,000 gold – players could buy about three years worth of playtime for the game instead. This translates to about $540 USD.

So it’s certainly a pricy mount, and now that it’s on the Black Market, it’ll likely be even pricier. If you’re hoping to grab a Longboi, good luck!
