Hot New Hip Hop says 50 Cent and Jim Jones aren’t best friends these days, and they haven’t been for a long, long time. The outlet claims the pair of men have been fighting for what seems like forever, and they even exchanged some words for each other in 2020.
According to Jones, a Verzuz battle would never work because there is “no camaraderie” between them. The New Yorker joked that maybe it would look like listening to “20 50 Cent records.”
As it was previously reported, the Verzuz phenomenon has become a real thing in the rap world over the last few months. It picked up steam during the coronavirus pandemic when many fans had nothing to do but stream content at home.
After a few successful battles, Verzuz quickly became a big part of hip-hop culture. And, as it was noted above, people began to look at the battle a lot more seriously after seeing how Jeezy and Gucci Mane managed to work things out.

Later, Gucci took to his social media to explain why he did it. The rapper claimed he did it for the “culture.” Another Verzuz battle to be in the headlines was the one between Rick Ross and 2 Chainz, which was criticized for being “low energy.”
2 Chains later addressed this by claiming it was simply two rappers celebrating their hits together, and neither of them wanted to outshine each other.
