Liv Tyler Leaves ‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ – Here’s Why!

According to new reports, Liv Tyler has left 9-1-1: Lone Star which means that, despite having a multiple-year contract signed, the actress will not be coming back to the series for a second season. As for the reason why, Deadline was the first to report that Tyler has decided this due to being concerned about the traveling situation amid this global pandemic.

After all, Liv Tyler lives in the United Kingdom but in order to shoot for the Fox show, she needed to commute from London to L.A.

A statement released by Tim Minear, the co-creator and showrunner, says: ‘What a thrill it was having a movie star of Liv Tyler’s stature to help us launch the first season of 9-1-1: Lone Star. We loved working with Liv and will be forever indebted to her for her haunting, powerful portrayal of Michelle Blake.’

‘While we were able to tell a complete chapter in Michelle’s story, as with Connie Britton on our mothership, we also feel like there are more stories to be told. The door here will always be open for a return.’

It sounds that the production team did not plan nor did they expect that Tyler would choose to leave the show but that is not to say that they are panicking about finding someone else last minute.

In reality, her spot is set to be filled by a brand new regular, Gina Tores, who will be portraying a new character on the show named Tommy Vega, a paramedic captain returning to the workplace after her loved ones are experiencing increasing financial problems caused by the pandemic.

The actress’ addition to the cast was previously announced earlier this month and brand new episodes of the popular 9-1-1: Lone Star show will be coming in 2021! Are you looking forward to the new season even without Liv Tyler?
