Katamari Damacy Reroll Launches On PlayStation 4 And Xbox One This November

Bandai Namco has announced Katamari Damacy Reroll will soon roll onto PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this November. The game was first launched on the Nintendo Switch and PC in December 2018.

Katamari Damacy Reroll is a remake of the first Katamari Damacy game released on the PlayStation 2 in 2004. In the game, the King of All Cosmos has destroyed all of the stars in the sky. He makes his son, The Prince, replace the stars by rolling up various items on Earth. Along the way, players can unlock several of the Prince’s cousins and use them to complete the King’s tasks.

Almost two years since the remake launched, Bandai Namco is preparing to launch the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game has updated graphics, recreated cutscenes, and full HD graphics.

The premise of the game is simple. Players have to roll up objects according to the rules set in place by the king. This may mean creating a ball of a certain size or filling it up with only one type of animal. Other levels may require the player not to roll up a certain item. What begins as a relaxing experience may become a race against the clock.

It’s currently unknown if the additional console ports will come with any additional features. The newest announcement trailer doesn’t state any new information, except that PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players, will soon get to experience the Katamari Damacy remake.

The Nintendo Switch version utilized the Joy-Con controllers with gyro controls. While the console is in Tabletop mode, players can shake the Joy-Cons to perform the Prince Dash. Players could join a friend for co-op fun in multiplayer mode using the Joy-Cons.

A modern remake of the Katamari Damacy series has been something fans of the original games have been requesting for years. A Change.org petition hoped to see all six games, Katamari Damacy, We Love Katamari, Me and My Katamari, Beautiful Katamari, Katamari Forever, and Touch My Katamari, re-released for modern consoles. As for now, players will get to re-experience the first game for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Katamari Damacy Reroll is currently available for PC via Steam and the Nintendo Switch. The additional console ports will launch one day early in Japan on November 19.

Katamari Damacy Reroll will launch on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 20.
