While the world waits to see what Donald Trump plans to do come January 20, 2021, the day of President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration, social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook now what they’ll be doing — transferring accounts from the Trump administration over to Joe Biden‘s and Kamala Harris’ team.
Donald Trump used Twitter as his main form of communicating with the world throughout his administration and things became contentious when Twitter began censoring or limiting his tweets. Multiple times throughout Trump’s re-election bid, Twitter would mark his tweets with warning labels suggesting the information that President Trump had tweeted was either false or misleading. What will happen to Donald Trump’s main @realdonaldtrump remains to be seen, but the official President of the United States (POTUS), First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS), and other members of the administration will transition.

Represenatives for Twitter spoke to Reuters and stated the following.
Twitter is actively preparing to support the transition of White House institutional Twitter accounts on January 20th, 2021. As we did for the presidential transition in 2017, this process is being done in close consultation with the National Archives and Records.
President Donald Trump is being repeatedly slammed for impeding the presidential election — the first time in history an incumbent president has done so.

At this point, it is unclear whether President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will use Twitter to the extent that President Donald Trump has. Will President Joe Biden tweet on a daily basis, or multiple times per day or will he address the nation primarily through press announcements via the White House.
