Arkane Studios published a tweet today that finally revealed the release date of their upcoming time-bending shooter, Deathloop. The game drops in May 2021. Anyone that anticipated Deathloop’s original late-2020 launch was likely let down when Arkane Studios announced that the title would be delayed to 2021. And while the new launch date still seems far off, it’s nice to have some confirmation on when it will be available. You can see the announcement tweet below.

Deathloop is perfect for players familiar with the popular Dishonored series. Based on the majority of trailers shown, the artwork and mechanics seem the same, but Arkane Lyon game director Binga Dakaba told us in an exclusive interview that “This project was really started on the premise of doing something different, to experiment with different concepts after eight years of doing Dishonored.” In Deathloop, players must assassinate 8 targets within the span of day while avoiding death at the hands of another assassin as well as various grunts patrolling the far reaches of the gameworld. But there’s an interesting twist: If the protagonist dies, the day starts over.
Deathloop launches on PlayStation 5 and PC on May 21, 2021.
