Maria Bakalova, who appeared alongside Sacha Baron Cohen in the second Borat film, admitted that she was genuinely scared of what might happen in the hotel room with Rudy Giuliani. At the same time, she did stress that she was ‘confident’ her co-star would come and ‘save’ her from Donald Trump’s lawyer, which he did!
Obviously, the hotel room scene with the former NYC mayor got him a lot of backlash and while she was obviously filming the whole time without him knowing, she still felt like she could be in ‘physical danger.’

During a new interview for the New York Times, the 24 year old actress, who played an underage interviewer while interacting with Giuliani, opened up about the behind the scenes and more.
When asked if she ever felt in actual danger while shooting the movie, Maria Bakalova admitted that: ‘Maybe the scene when we were at the hotel and Rudy Giuliani called the police, I was kind of scared that something would happen. But fortunately, we escaped.’

As you might know if you’ve already check out the second instalment of Borat, Maria portrayed his 15 year old daughter, who, at this point in the movie, lands an interview with Rudy Giuliani at a hotel.
After the interview, however, she suggested going into the bedroom where they would enjoy some drinks.
She proceeded to help the man take the audio equipment off and then, Rudy leaned back on the bed, a hand down his pants, as if he was expecting something more to happen between the two of them.
At that moment, however, Sacha Baron Cohen’s character, Borat, barged into the room, saving his daughter from him!
Maria went on to tell the news outlet that ‘Sacha, he’s my nonbiological father and he will be like that forever. So I trusted him from the beginning and I knew he would never put me in a dangerous situation. At the same time, we had a security team that was able to save us in a moment���I was nervous. My heart was racing. But Sacha was like, you should be nervous in this situation. So use your nerves. Convert them and accept them and they’re going to help you through everything.’
‘Sacha jumped into the room quickly, because he’s been worried about me. So, if he were late, I don’t know how things were going to go. But he came just in time. I was confident that Sacha will save me and he will save the scene, so it’s not going to be a disaster. He’s my guardian angel,’ she gushed over her co-star.
Since the scene went viral Rudy has claimed, multiple times, that he was only tucking his shirt into his pants again after taking the wires off.
