Barack Obama just dropped a brand new memoir, A Promised Land, and he promoted it on platforms such as The Breakfast Club as well as 360 With Speedy Morman. For many, President Obama is one of the greatest presidents the country has seen in recent memory, in spite of some of the criticisms against him.
These days, Obama continues to be a public figure, including his partnership with Netflix and the aforementioned new memoir. More importantly, the former president of the United States of America has spoken out on issues such as COVID-19, racism, and more.
During his conversation with Speedy Morman, Obama explained to the host who he thought would portray him in a movie the best, citing Drake, the Toronto rapper, as his number one choice. The former president said, “Drake seems to be able to do anything he wants.”
Obama went on to say that Drake has easily earned the respect and the “stamp of approval” from his household, including his daughters and his wife. In case you missed it, HipHopDX previously reported that Drake made his desire to star as the president back in 2012.

The rapper said in 2012 that he was looking forward to when someone made a biopic about Obama because he wanted to portray him. The rapper went on to say that he “watched all the addresses” and it was a goal of his to portray the former president.
According to Drake, he has been paying attention to his “inflections” and the way he speaks for years, and more importantly, everyone who knows him understands that his impersonations of other celebrities are actually quite good.

Drake said he wanted to “do something great…something for my culture” and for the younger people who are still in touch with everything that’s going on in the world. Fans of Drake know he already has experience as an actor.
In fact, before he became a mega-star as a rapper, he appeared on the Canadian television series, Degrassi, which followed a group of high school students as they grapple with the challenges of the average teenager.
