A live-action adaptation of the iconic video game Pac-Man is coming. The Associated Press claims that a live-action rendition of the vintage arcade favorite will soon hit theatres.
Even while video game movies don’t exactly have the finest image, this one has quite the pedigree: it was created by Bandai Namco Entertainment, the company that created the original games, and its narrative was inspired by a concept by none other than Chuck Williams, the developer of Sonic the Hedgehog.

Pac-Man, a legendary coin-op game, played a crucial role in the 1980s explosion of video gaming. After its 1980 release, Ms. Pac-Man and the iconic Pac-Land both quickly established themselves as arcade mainstays.
The traditional game has been played by all. Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde are just a few of the ghosts that Pac-titular Man’s hero must escape as he navigates through various mazes. It’s unclear exactly how this will play out in real life.

Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures from Disney XD took a shot at the arena favorite in 2013, but the lengthy arcade game has already been included in a number of cartoons over the years, most notably the Hanna-Barbera classic, which debuted on ABC in 1982.
The studios behind the Disney+ movie Clouds and The CW series My Last Days, Bandai Namco Entertainment, and Wayfarer Studios will collaborate on the Pac-Man live-action feature.
Along with Chuck Williams and Tim Kwok of Lightbeam, Wayfarer Studios, Justin Baldoni, Manu Gargi, and Andrew Calof join as producers.
It’s unclear how Pac-Man would function in a live-action setting, but this isn’t the first time the iconic video game character has appeared on a large screen.
The video game movie Pixels, starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Josh Gad, and Peter Dinklage, featured Pac-Man prominently. In Wreck-It Ralph and its follow-up, other Pac-Man characters also made predicted cameo appearances.
