For Capcom, Monster Hunter continues to be a top seller. Capcom refreshes its list of platinum games or all Capcom games that have sold more than a million copies roughly every three months and offers the most recent sales information for all games listed as of June 30. It’s hardly surprising that both new and old Monster Hunter games are still popular.
Of course, there is Monster Hunter World, which has a current sales total of 18.3 million, up from the 18 million units sold at the end of the previous quarter.

Similar growth is being seen in its expansion, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, which has seen unit sales increase from 9.2 million at the end of the previous quarter to 9.5 million today.
Then there is Monster Hunter Rise, which has sold 10.3 million copies on PC and the Nintendo Switch. Its global shipping and digital sales stood at 10 million copies less than a month ago.

With 2.5 million units sold, its own expansion, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, is likewise maintaining high sales. This number will increase quickly because, as of July 13, shipments had reached 3 million devices.
Currently, Monster Hunter Rise is the second-selling video game of all time. With a staggering 18.3 million units sold, Monster Hunter World breaks the records for both best-selling and fastest-selling individual games.
According to these data, Rise accounts for around 12% of unit sales, and Monster Hunter World accounts for 22% of all franchise sales.
It’s also noteworthy that from Q4 of 2020 to the present, the Monster Hunter franchise sold 12 million units. When Monster Hunter Rise was launched in Q4 of 2020, it contributed 86 percent—or 10.3 million—of the franchise’s increased sales of 12 million units.
Last but not least, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, a turn-based JRPG exclusive to the Nintendo Switch, sold 1.6 million copies, up from the 1.5 million announced earlier this year.
