A New Multiplayer Ninja Game Set In Feudal Japan Has Been Announced By Former CD Projekt RED Devs Who Worked On The Witcher 3 And Cyberpunk 2077

A new Polish development firm called Dark Passenger, with its headquarters in Warsaw was just unveiled. Its staff includes seasoned professionals who have worked on games like Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

After five years of working as RealTime Warriors to provide characters, environments, cinematic sequences, animations, and more for other video games, the company made the decision to go one step further by changing its name to Dark Passenger and beginning pre-production on its debut title.

Although the project hasn’t yet been given a name, it bears some resemblance to Ghost of Tsushima and its Legends upgrade.

A first-person multiplayer game contains aspects of both cooperative PvE and competitive PvP, according to the description on the official Dark Passenger website.

It is set in feudal Japan after an invasion by an unidentified intruder who has usurped the shogun’s throne and features supernatural elements in the form of potent artifacts.

According to the website, “playing as shinobi and kunoichi, players will encounter the usurper’s helpers and other hitmen in search of the same items.”

Players’ characters will be able to climb pagodas, hide beneath the floors of country homes, jump over city rooftops, and make their way through shrines and temples while navigating these gloomy locales.

The environment’s verticality will provide countless opportunities for mobility, and the unpredictable weather conditions—sudden downpours, strong gusts, and fog—will catch them off guard.

With Unreal Engine 5 at its foundation, Dark Passenger’s stealth game is now being developed as a current-gen title for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Since it uses Unreal Engine 5, it has accessibility to the engine’s potent new features, Nanite and Lumen, which can produce and light real environments for games while conserving memory and processing time, resulting in an amazingly detailed world for players to discover.
