Drake Drops New Album “Honestly, Nevermind” With Only One Day Heads Up

One of the most influential hip-hop artists of our generation, Drizzy Drake just dropped his 7th studio album titled, “Honestly, Nevermind” and as expected, it broke records right away.

The Canadian Emcee announced via Instagram on Thursday 16th of June that he will be dropping a new album the very next day and on Friday the album came out on all music platforms.

The Instagram announcement showed the cover art of the album which was the title of the album in a shiny silver font with colorful shadows set against a black background.

The album follows Drake’s 2021 “Certified Lover Boy” which broke Spotify records and this album did the same except with Apple Music . Apple announced that the album broke the record for most first-day streams of any album released on the platform, EVER!

The album has a run time of 52 minutes and has no features at all, except for one appearance from fellow hip hop artist 21 Savage on the final track “Jimmy Cooks.”

The announcement of Drake’s album came mere hours after Beyonce announced her upcoming album “Renaissance” which will be dropping on the 29th of July. Fans couldn’t help but speculate that perhaps the announcements coming mere hours after one another wasn’t a coincidence, but it was a great day for music lovers nonetheless.

Drake also dropped a new music video to accompany the album for the track, “Falling Back.” The music video showed Drake’s wedding where he is marrying an entire army of Brides with NBA player Tristan Thompson showing up as his best man.

The choice to have the NBA player in the video showing multiple women with one man is very controversial since Tristan recently admitted to fathering a child with another woman while still in a committed relationship with Khloe Kardashian.

Hit songs on the album include “Calling My Name,” “Texts Go Green,” and “Tie That Binds,” but overall, based on people’s reactions on social media, the album seems to be doing great and will likely become a regular in many people’s playlists.
