Hot New Hip Hop reported this week that a man named, Jerret Rosenborough, a dentist from Dallas, Texas, who rapped on a part-time basis, was shot in an attempted robbery. The outlet claims Jerret is actually a dentist but he likes to rap in his spare time.
On his Instagram this Friday, Dr. Rose wrote on his IG that he was “shot multiple times” while on his way out of his office. The medical practitioner went on to say he would be taking some time away from his work to get better.
Rose claimed he was grateful to say that he had made it out alive and would be spending more time with his family. The dentist thanked his family and his social media followers for sending him well wishes during his recovery.
According to Hot New Hip Hop, the shooting went down at 9:00 pm on Thursday night, and the dentist and two other people had to go to the hospital after the gunshots had gone off.
Coincidentally, Rose is the second rapper to be shot in Dallas, Texas, this weekend. As it was previously reported, Boosie Badazz, the controversial performing artist, had been shot in the leg while he was on his way to pay his respects to Mo3.
Mo3, another rapper from the area, was killed on Wednesday, and Boosie was on his way to the city to pay tribute. Someone then opened fire on his vehicle while Boosie and his crew left a venue. Reportedly, the death of the rapper marks the 212th homicide as of Thursday.
This means the number has exceeded the number of deaths from gunfire in the previous year. Gun violence is a big problem in the rap and hip-hop community. Perhaps most famously, the 20-year-old rapper, Pop Smoke, was murdered back in February of this year.
Following his death, his popularity and notoriety surged and his posthumous record, Shoot For The Stars….Aim For The Moon, went to the number one spot on the charts.
