Blizzard Grants A Look Into World Of Warcraft: Shadowlands’ Endgame Zone The Maw

As a warning, this article will contain spoilers for the upcoming World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion! If you’re trying to move forward with as few spoilers as possible, turn away now!

Blizzard has had their work for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands cut out for them as 2020 slowly comes to an end, having to delay the original release date by nearly a month as a result of production hits from the COVID-19 pandemic that continues to ravage the United States.

Amazon’s Upcoming MMO New World Has Been Officially Postponed Until Spring Of 2021

One of the many things they’ve been working on is the most simple part of any marketing strategy – building hype. To that end, Blizzard recently released a series of sneak peek videos for the new expansion.

These Shadowlands from Above videos provided players with a glimpse into the five zones of the upcoming expansion, helping us see where we would be spending most of our time when we hop into the ghastly lands of the Shadowlands on November 23rd.

We’ve already discussed the four covenant zones – Ardenweald, Revendreth, Maldraxxus, and Bastion – but we’ve yet to discuss the Maw. This desolate landscape, home of the Jailor that Sylvanas has sworn herself to, is about as bleak as it could get.

Much of our time as players will be spent in the Maw, as it seems set to be the main location for much of the endgame. Home to Torghast, Tower of the Damned, an endless and repeatable dungeon, we have quite a bit to keep us busy.

Torghast got a bit of a highlight as well with this The Maw from Above video, showing a couple of the wings that players will be exploring. Players were able to look into Skoldus Hall and the Upper Reaches to see what horrors will await.

We were able to glance outside of the Tower of the Damned as well, however, with the cinematic giving us a new look at Zovaal’s Cauldron. As of now, little is known about this hellish, lava-filled zone.

Blizzard also gave us a look at Perdition Hold, one of the bases for the Mawsworn military that serves the Jailor. Further away, we were given a look into the aptly named Beastwarrens, filled with vicious beasts that seem more than ready to rack up the death count for players.

As we tick closer and closer to the release date, we’re likely to see more glances into the lands that we’ll be exploring. With the Scourge Invasion prepatch event now less than a week away, it won’t be long until we’re marching into the Shadowlands proper.
