Miami Heat Eliminate Boston Celtics in Six Games, Reach the NBA Finals

The Miami Heat is in the NBA Finals after defeating the Boston Celtics in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals. The final result of that match was 125-113 for the franchise from Florida, who showed that it doesn’t break under pressure.

Miami was ahead during most of the match, allowing the Cs to come back in the early phase of the final period, once Boston created a six-point lead, 96-90 threatening to level the series with a victory in this one.

Yet, a 16-2 series provided by Erik Spoelstra’s guys decided Game 6 and launched the Heat in the finals. Robinson, Adebayo, Buttler, Herro, all of these guys had their share in those moments, splashing buckets from various positions.

From eight players who appeared on the court for the Heat, only Solomon Hill didn’t score points. Bam Adebayo had a team-high 32 points and 14 boards with five assists. He was 11-for-15 from the field. Jimmy Butler added 22 with eight assists, while Tyler Herro dropped 19 off the bench, assisting seven times, and grabbing 5 rebounds. Duncan Robinson hit five threes, for 15 points in total, while Andre Iguodala scored the same number, ending perfect from the field, 5-for-5 with four threes.

Goran Dragic contributed with 13 and seven assists.

On the other end, Jaylen Brown led the way with 26 points, 8 boards, 4 dimes, and three steals. Jayson Tatum scored 24 but with nine field goals in 26 tries, helping with 11 assists and 7 rebounds. Kemba Walker and Marcus Smart both had 20 points, each combining for three 7-for-23. Gordon Hayward had 12 buckets.

The Celtics allowed Miami to shoot 56.3 percent from the field, while on the other side, they went 43.4.%. Robinson, Herro, and the rest of the Heat were 48.1% from downtown, 13-for-27.

For Boston, this is the third time in the last four years to lose conference finals, which is a pretty frustrating thing. They wouldn’t beat the Cavs and the Raptors before this matchup against the Heat.

Meanwhile, for the first time since 2014, Miami is in the NBA finals. Back then, Wade and James led the way for the Heat, who lost the finals against the Spurs. It was the concluding season of the legendary trio James-Wade-Bosh, who won two titles and played four straight finals, as LBJ returned home to Cleveland the following year.

Game 1 of the finals is this Wednesday at 9 pm ET.
