World of Warcraft has plenty of professional guilds that are constantly pushing the endgame content to set new records and claim accolades throughout the lifespan of an expansion or major content release, and the competition is always fierce.
Some of these guilds are esport organizations that cross games and platforms, such as Complexity-Limit or, formerly, Method, which has been mostly dissolved after a variety of scandals. These organizations become extremely recognizable staples, but they certainly don’t have a monopoly.

One of the top content-pushing guilds in the world is a Russian guild by the name of Exorcus – or, more accurately, Экзорсус. but that tends to be a bit harder for English-speakers to pronounce.
Exorcus is no slouch in comparison to others – they’ve been around for quite a while, and were among the first 100 guilds to complete a multitude of challenges worldwide.

However, Exorcus made an interesting choice recently. It seems that the whole guild has switched from Horde to Alliance, presumably in preparation of the upcoming World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion.

One of the reasons for this is likely the Castle Nathria raid that will make up the first tier of raiding in the upcoming expansion. There’s a multitude of creatures in this raid that cause bleeding damage-over-time effects on players.
This switch makes more sense with this in mind, as the Dwarf race on the Alliance has access to a racial ability titled Stoneform. Stoneform is capable of rendering the Dwarf casting it immune to bleeding effects, heavily countering one of the more challenging mechanics of the raid.
Exorcus has been a Horde guild for quite a while, and have earned a multitude of accomplishments during that time. THroughout Battle for Azeroth, Exorcus entered the Hall of Fame – among the first hundred to defeat a Mythic-difficulty end-raid boss – on G’huun, Jaina, Uu’nat, Queen Azshara, and N’Zoth the Corruptor.
That means that every raid in the previous expansion had Exorcus as one of the first groups to complete its highest difficulty, a remarkable achievement for the guild. They have plenty of other achievements as well, such as being the first on their realm to down every Legion raid boss on Mythic, which they also managed with Warlords of Draeneor.
Exorcus is one of the powerhouses of the professional content-pushing scene, and them leaving the Horde is a notable deal, statistically. Hopefully, their tactical switch brings them the victory they deserve to find to continue their streak of success into World of Warcraft: Shadowlands.
