The Pokemon GO Halloween 2020 event is on the horizon and brings with it new spooky-inspired incentives to play. With the new event kicking off later this week, here’s what you need to know about catching ’em all while staying Halloween-loyal.
When does the Pokemon GO Halloween 2020 event start?
The upcoming event starts on October 23 at 6:00 PM PDT and will run until November 3 at the same time. This is a limited-time-only seasonal event, much like years in the past, so if you want any of the items detailed, you’re going to want to make sure you participate during that time duration.
Players will be tasked with catching a variety of Ghost-type Pokemon while also getting an exclusive costumed Gengar and Sableye. The spawn rate of ghost types will increase exponentially for this specific event.
To get the themed Gengar, you’ll need to participate in Pokemon GO raids. For the Sableye with the cute little Litwick hat, they will be found just by playing the game organically out in the wild. Or, you can just hatch a bunch of eggs.
Galarian Yamask will also be a first-time addition to Pokemon GO with the Halloween event, which means even more pocket monsters to go after for those with those impressively growing pokedexes.
Just like last year, there will be Pokemon GO Special Research for this Halloween event called A Spooky Message Unmasked. This is where you’ll be able to get your hands on the Galarian Yamask by helping out Professor Willow during his investigations. Players will also be given the opportunity to nab a Spiritbomb as an added treat, with a Shiny version also available.
Pokemon GO trainers can also purchase a few goodies as well with the Boo Bundle, the Pumpkin Pack, and the Creepy Crate boxes with themed loot!
Keep an eye on Pokemon GO during all days of the Halloween event, because there will be a few other tricks and treats popping up between the start and the end of this particular festivity.
