The long wait is finally over. After a year of hype, Blizzard has finally released World of Warcraft: Shadowlands onto the live servers of the game!
3:00 PM PDT saw the global release of the title, with thousands of players swarming the title, as is to be expected. While there’s been a great bit of stress testing done for this release, there’s little hope of the servers surviving the onslaught coming their way.

Players should react accordingly, and there’s going to be some frustration. The servers are likely going to go down – they already are, in some cases, with players waiting for long loading screens before being told that the world server is down.
The same happened with the prepatch release earlier this year, and the same happens every major content release, especially expansions. As time goes on, Blizzard does some maintenance and players begin to do something else, lessening the burden.

That means that the later it is, the more likely you are to be able to play properly. Directly at launch as of this article’s release, however? All we can really say is “good luck.”
The hype surrounding this expansion is higher than it’s been for quite some time. Blizzard made a concerted effort to show that they were listening to their fans with this new expansion, which is something fans have wanted for a good while.
Beta testing saw Blizzard implementing the feedback of players swiftly, oftentimes scrapping mechanics entirely to do so. As we head into the new expansion, players are excited to see what the developers have in store moving forward.
There’s been a bit of concern around how the launch will go progression wise, with Blizzard confirming that obtaining a craftable legendary won’t be possible with the first week. Players also saw some concern over tomorrow’s weekly reset.
Whatever the concern may be, there’s plenty going on to take up time without bothering to be upset about what few things may be missing. One of the most exciting features will be Torghast, Tower of the Damned, which players have been happily playtesting for months on the beta.

As we head into the new expansion, there’s more excitement around World of Warcraft than there has been for quite a while. Saying goodbye to Battle for Azeroth is bittersweet for some, but bringing in the Shadowlands content has the entire player base hyped for the future.
