It might go without saying, but just in case – spoilers for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands ahead!
After a slue of issues, World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is finally almost here! Delaying it back from its previous launch date of late October, Blizzard seems confident that they can meet their recently-announced launch date of November 23rd, 2020.
Just Cause 4 Will Be Completely Free Next Week On The Epic Games Store
This date is more than just a hopeful deadline, though. November 23rd is the 16th anniversary of World of Warcraft as a title. What better way to ring in this next birthday than with what might be the most hyped expansion in the game’s history?
Continuing to build up that hype, Blizzard has been releasing previews into the new zones with their mini-sneak-peak trailers, Shadowlands from Above. The most recent – the third in the series – shows us about a half a minute of the mystical world of Ardenweald.
Thoroughly steeped in what the beings on the material plane of Azeroth would call druidic magics or fae, the Ardenweald is a locus of constant rebirth, life, and death. Here, souls are prepared to be reborn, fueled by the anima that powers the Shadowlands as a whole.
As with the other locations that adventurers will be journeying too – Maldraxxus, Bastion, and Revendreth – Ardenweald is stricken with a drought. As Anima ceases flowing due to the actions of the Maw, Ardenweald slowly dies.
The trailer, which you can watch above, shows us a flight over the zone and what we can expect, as well as a peek at the ambient music of the zone. Players are sure to recognize a few things here, though most of it is in a form that we’ve never seen before.
There’s a good amount being shown here, from notable NPCs to locations in general. Players see Tirna Vaal, one of the main locations that we’ll be spending our time with the Ardenweald, from a wonderful bird’s eye view.
We’re also given a bit of a glance into the Heart of the Forest, another primary location for the Night Fae covenant of the zone. Players can expect to be spending a good amount of time in this central location, so it’s good to be able to take a glimpse at what we can expect.

As the expansion comes closer and closer, there’s always more for the players to dig into while we wait. There’s only 22 days left until we can step into the Shadowlands, so make sure you have everything prepared before you jump into the launch!
