While talking about how much easier it felt to be a parent after learning about Joe Biden winning the election, Van Jones got really emotional, shedding some tears on air! Here’s what he had to say!
After hearing that Donald Trump had lost the presidential election, CNN news commentator Van Jones could not help but just break down in tears of joy and relief.
Joe Biden’s victory came with several records being broken as well!
First of all, he managed to surpass Barack Obama in the number of votes due to the massive voter turnout and the mail-in option.

At the same time, his running mate, Kamala Harris also made history as the first woman VP and first VP of Black and Indian descent as well!
Later on after the news was confirmed, Van chatted with Anderson Cooper about the election results and he got emotional.
‘It is easier to be a parent this morning. It is easier to tell your kids that character matters. It matters. Telling the truth matters. Being a good person matters. And it is easier for a lot of people. If you’re a Muslim in this country, you don’t have to worry about if the President does not want you here. If you’re an immigrant you do not need to worry if the President is going to be happy to have your babies snatched away, or send Dreamers back for no reason,’ the man shared.
He went on to also echo George Floyd’s words when he was killed by a policeman back in May, a tragedy that sparked massive Black Lives Matter protests all over the world.
‘I can’t breathe? That wasn’t just George Floyd. That was a lot of people who felt they couldn’t breathe. Every day you’re waking up and you’re getting these tweets and you just don’t know, and you are going to the store and the people who were once afraid to show their racism are just getting nastier and nastier to you,’ Van said.
