Tory Lanez Hit With Charges Over Megan Thee Stallion Shooting

On Thursday, Tory Lanez, the rapper, was slapped with charges related to the Megan Thee Stallion shooting incident in the Hollywood Hills, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office confirmed this week.

Daystar Peterson, who goes by the stage name, Tory Lanez, is up against one charge of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, as well as possessing an unregistered firearm. Followers of the case know Lanez, 28, had been accused of shooting Megan, 25, in an SUV in the Hollywood Hills.

Reportedly, when Megan got out of the vehicle, Lanez told her to “dance b*tch,” before letting off a few shots at her feet. And on Instagram one month later, Megan Thee Stallion took to her Instagram to confirm that it was Tory who allegedly shot her.

“Yes, this n*gga Tory shot me,” Megan said in her video, before going on to claim that Tory and his team of publicists had been spreading rumors and lies about her on social media.

Just a few days before she shared the video, Megan Thee Stallion also uploaded images of her feet on Instagram including when she got stitches removed. Amid the news reports, Megan put social media users on blast who mocked what happened to her. Megan claimed it caused a lot of trauma in her life.

Lanez released a new record this year, DAYSTAR, in which he touched on the Megan Thee Stallion shooting. The rapper is now scheduled to appear in a Los Angeles County Superior Court on the 13th of October, and if he’s convicted for the crime, he could serve 22 years in prison.

As most know, the Tory Lanez-Megan Thee Stallion shooting controversy was one of the most talked-about events of the summer. The aftermath of the reports saw the excoriation of Tory Lanez in the media not only from journalists but also by his friends and peers in the hip-hop and music world.

For instance, Tory had worked on singles with Kehlani and Jojo but both artists said they had since removed the tracks from their albums.
