If you’re one of the people who were lucky enough to snag a PlayStation 5 console this month, chances are you got right to work plugging it in, firing it up, and playing a multitude of games.
But one player got to work in a totally different way, making some modifications to their PS5 to make it truly out of this world.

That’s a pun of the highest sort, because the player in question decided to make a custom Mass Effect PlayStation 5 console that look absolutely stunning.
Received PS5 yesterday. Instead of playing games like a normal person, spent most of the day mask-taping and airbrushing it… Love the result though! from gaming
A Reddit user named Thirteenera showed off the custom console. The red and white stripes that adorn the front of the console should be familiar to all fans of the BioWare sci-fi RPG franchise, along with the iconic N7 logo that adorned Commander Shepard’s signature armor.
“Received PS5 yesterday,” the Reddit user said in their post. “Instead of playing games like a normal person, spent most of the day mask-taping and airbrushing it. Love the result though!”
Excitement surrounding the original Mass Effect trilogy has been at a high of late, with new content coming for the first time in many years.
First off, the original three games are being remastered and re-released for the first time ever, collected together in the Mass Effect Legendary Edition on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Both versions will also receive updates for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, so this user will be able to play Mass Effect on their Mass Effect PS5 when the Legendary Edition drops in spring of 2021.
The original trilogy of games were released over one console generation. Gamers were able to enjoy Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 only. Since then, they have been playable on Xbox One consoles, thanks to backwards compatibility.
But the only Mass Effect game to hit for the current console generation was Mass Effect Andromeda. There was a lot of excitement surrounding the idea of the game, where you played as a group of explorers colonizing an entirely new galaxy.
However, the game fell flat with a lot of people, and a number of launch glitches caused it to fumble in a way that it never quite recovered from. The planned sequel games and story-driven DLC never materialized and many feared the franchise was dead.

However, this past N7 Day (November 7), BioWare and EA announced that not only was the Legendary Edition on its way next year, but a new game is also currently being developed.
