During a new interview for HollywoodLife, Sunny talked about why Kamala becoming the Vice President elect means so much.

Sunny told the site that ‘I co-wrote a Washington Post essay this summer with an incredible group of Black female activists and celebs about the need for a Black woman Vice-President and a Black agenda. I got hate mail in response from people who asked, ‘How dare you demand [Joe Biden] pick a Black woman?’

She went on to share that ‘My response is that Black women have always been the rock of the Democratic party. We are its most loyal voting bloc. Other voting blocs make demands of candidates all the time, based on their own agendas. Why cannot Black women ask for representation at the highest levels of government? It is our time. We deserve the representation. We have earned it.’

Sure enough, Kamala Harris has made history in more than just one way!
