El Clasico: Real Madrid Better Than Barcelona at Camp Nou, 1-3
The game was very interesting. The guests from Milan opened the contest with several colossal chances, but they didn’t have the composure to finish the job. Real reached the lead following one big mistake of Inter’s defender, Achraf Hakimi, who wanted to pass the ball behind to his goalkeeper, but instead, gave it to Karim Benzema, who didn’t have a hard time executing.
Real doubled the lead in the 33rd minute through Sergio Ramos, who scored his 100th goal for Real. Los Blancos’ defender hit a header behind Handanovic for 2-0.
Yet, Inter decreased the gap just two minutes later with Lautaro Martinez netting. That boosted the visitors’ morale, who were much more active early on in the second half, pressuring the rivals. That paid off in the 68th minute, with Ivan Perisic leveling the score to 2-2.
Even though Nerazzurri continued to attack, they couldn’t reach the third goal. Several chances were wasted, and the punishment arrived on the other side. Real’s superb counter-attack ended with Rodrygo beating Handanovic after a super-precise hit from the box.
The Italian team went for another equalizer, but they couldn’t breach Real’s tough defense.
Earlier today, Borussia Monchengladbach beat Shakhtar on the road with an amazing 0-6, and they hold the top position in the group with five points, while Ukrainians sit second with four points, the same as Real.
In other matches, in Group A, the UCL champions, Bayern Munich, defeated RB Salzburg on the road with 2-5, even though they opened the event badly, trailing 0-1. Atletico Madrid and Lokomotiv played 1-1 in Moscow.
