According to his agent Aaron Mintz, Paul George and the Los Angeles Clippers signed a maximum contract extension.

The Staples Center team gave the All-Star forward a four-year $190 million deal, which will continue following George’s last year of the current contract. Right now, PG is set to earn close to $226 million during the next five years.
This action puts an end to all the speculations that appeared following the Clippers’ disastrous ending of the year, with many of them suggesting that one of the best players in the league might leave LA.
Jets’ Head Coach Adam Gase Wants Jamal Adams Back
That would be a huge surprise following just one year in the City of Angels, George’s hometown. After the 2018-19 season, the former Indiana Pacers’ leader wanted a trade from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Clippers, making an agreement with Kawhi Leonard about making a super-team. Both guys are from LA, and that apparently had a decisive role in the entire process.
George didn’t have a season many expected to see. He would average 21.5 points, 5.7 boards, 3.9 assists, and 1.4 steals in 29.6 minutes. George’s impact on the game was far weaker than it should have been, and that especially refers to the playoff performances. He was struggling to provide consistency, and the defensive contribution was mediocre.
Many believe his pale productivity is the main reason for the Clippers’ early exit from the postseason. It is why some of the experts suggested that he could be traded during the free agency. That is not an option with today’s agreement.
George played 652 games in the NBA, posting 20 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game. Since coming into the league in 2010 as the 10th overall pick, the 6-foot-8 was an All-Star on six occasions, in 2019 was a part of the All-NBA First team. Along with that, George was four times All-NBA third team, and four times an All-NBA defender. Even though he had a nasty injury that would set him apart from the court in the 2014-15 season, George returned even stronger, regaining his form.
Along with Kawhi, he is the pivotal figure in LAC’s attack on the title. Even though Clips changed their head coach, and instead of Doc Rivers have Tyronn Lue, while also suffering several other changes on the roster, they are still the No.1 candidate to dethrone the Lakers.
