Megan Thee Stallion Will Star As Musical Guest On Upcoming Episode Of Saturday Night Live

Fans of Megan Thee Stallion know she has had a tough year. Even though the performing artist has had a lot of ups and downs, including the Tory Lanez foot-shooting incident, the rapper has continued to stay on top with a series of popular singles.

In addition to scoring a platinum plaque for “Captain Hook,” the rapper also appeared alongside Cardi B in the track, “WAP,” which featured a cameo from Kylie Jenner. More importantly, she was recently named as one of the most influential people in the world by Time Magazine.

And her success hasn’t stopped there either. Megan Thee Stallion was given the role as the musical guest of Saturday Night Live for their upcoming season. On her Instagram this week, Megan promoted her scheduled appearence on the October 3rd, episode of NBC’s sketch-comedy series.

Megan Thee Stallion will share the hosting duties alongside Chris Rock. As it was noted above, Megan Thee Stallion was in the headlines for more insidious reasons earlier in the summer amid the quarantine lockdown.

It was reported by a number of outlets that Tory Lanez was booked by the Los Angeles police after he shot her in the foot following an argument at a house party, and then his SUV. While “assault with a weapon” charges were never filed against him, Tory was charged with gun possession.

Thus far, it’s not clear if the prosecutors will decide to press more charges against him. Either way, Megan Thee Stallion, after a few weeks of rumors on what really happened, took to her IG to confirm that it was Tory who shot her.

Around one week before, Megan said there was “no protection for black women” which garnered praise in the entertainment industry and in the media. Some social media users questioned why more rappers and male actors weren’t coming to her defense as well.

Michael B. Jordan was the first male actor to come out in support of the rapper. Not long after, Chance The Rapper asked for justice as well.
