Kelly Clarkson Recalls Being Mistaken For Carrie Underwood By A Fan And Signing An Autograph As The Country Singer!

On The Kelly Clarkson Show’s latest episode, the host opened up about being mistaken for another celebrity. Not only that but she also recalled signing an autograph for Carrie Underwood once!

Kelly Clarkson and her guests on the show, Michelle Buteau and Cheryl Hines, were playing I’m Awesome At Being Awkward when she shared this funny story.

The trio were supposed to share what they’d so in some of the most awkward situations.

Kelly began to recall how once, ‘This girl came up to me and was like, ‘Oh my god, your song ‘So Small’ is one of my favorites.’ And I kept thinking, ‘I don’t have a song ‘So Small.’ And then she said another song and I was like, ‘Oh, you think I’m Carrie Underwood.’ And I literally look nothing like Carrie Underwood.’

The singer went on to share how she reacted to the awkward encounter, saying that: ‘I was so embarrassed for her that I just…She was like, ‘Can you sign this?’ And I totally signed ‘Carrie Underwood.’ I think that might be illegal!’

Apparently, something similar also happened to Hines, who said that once, a fan mistook her for Julie Bowen from Modern Family!

Buteau could relate as well, saying that she had been mistaken for both Kim Coles and Raven-Symoné before.

Speaking of the country star however, another celeb that was mistaken for her was none other than actress Reese Witherspoon!

She shared the story back in June via her Twitter account: ‘To the woman in the parking lot who asked me if I was Carrie Underwood: You officially made my day!’

Underwood was seemingly flattered by the comparison, tweeting in response: ‘YOUR day?!?!?!?! That lady just made my whole life!’

As for Clarkson, even though she doesn’t actually resemble Underwood in the slightest, she did cover her song titled Before He Cheats, last year on her talk show.
