On November 7, 2020, Kamala Harris made history by becoming the first female vice president. In a rousing acceptance speech, Kamala spoke to the nation and promised that she would serve the people and do her part to help America heal from the divisions that have fractured the country for the past four years. She began her speech by remembering Congressman John Lewis who sadly passed away before he could see Trump’s reign end and Joe Biden’s begin. Kamala honored the women of generations past who fought for all women to have the right to vote and then paved the way for women to hold political offices. Kamala promised that though she was the first woman elected to the office of vice president, she wouldn’t be the last.
Kamala looked gorgeous in her speech and many have asked for details on her look. Politics is not a fashion show and it is imperative that women who hold public office find a balance between looking great and even fashionable, while still be taken seriously. Kamala opted for a white, wool suit by Carolina Herrera that exuded confidence and power, while still remaining feminine.

The suit is called the Carolina Herrera Double Faced Wool Blazer and the Carolina Hererra Double Faced Wool Trousers. The blazer retails for approximately $2,290 and the trousers go for about $990. Kamala paired the suit with a white, satiny blouse that had a gold sheen to it. The blouse featured a classic pussy bow collar.

But while I may be the first woman in this office, I will not be the last. Because every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities, and to the children of our country, regardless of your gender, our country has sent you a clear message, dream with ambition, lead with conviction, and see yourselves in a way that others may not simply because they’ve never seen it before, but know that we will applaud you every step of the way.
