Congratulations are in order for Jonathan Bennett and Jaymes Vaughan as the couple is officially engaged and shared the moment of the romantic proposal on social media. The two have been dating for three years and Jaymes surprised Jonathan when he was in Canada filming another first. Jonathan Bennett stars in the very first Hallmark Channel movie with LGBTQ or same-sex characters ever aired on the network. Jonathan was filming The Christmas House when Jaymes surprised him by writing him an original song and bending down on one knee to ask for Jonathan’s hand.
Jonathan’s family members were in attendance and as he was filming a movie, so too were plenty of A-list photographers who captured the momentous event. Kay Jewelers provided the rings prompting Jonathan to shout out the brand repeatedly in his now sponsored Instagram posts. Jonathan was overwhelmed with emotion and began to immediately, as he called it, “ugly cry.”
Jonathan didn’t hesitate to give his reply and pledge to spend the rest of his life with his love, Jaymes.
Jonathan and James spoke to People magazine about the proposal. Jonathan Bennett stated the following to the publication.
When I saw Jaymes take a knee I was so excited I just started hysterically screaming because I didn’t know how to express myself properly. There was a moment when you feel like “Oh, this is forever, I understand it.” I screamed “Yes” immediately. Actually, it was, “Yes! Of course!”

Jonathan couldn’t contain his excitement as the two held hands and expressed their joyous love.
Jaymes held Jonathan close against his chest and hugged him tightly as Jonathan continued to smile.
