‘Joe Biden Is a Good Person, While Donald Trump Isn’t,’ Ex-CIA Director Said — Does He Have a Point?

In a short video ad released by Republican Voters Against Trump, a group of conservatives who opine that the current President is unfit for the Oval Office, former CIA director Michael Hayden endorsed Joe Biden.

The 75-year-old retired General accused Trump of not being interested in facts. In Hayden’s view, truth matters, especially in intelligence.

“President Trump doesn’t care about facts, he doesn’t listen to his experts,” Hayden said. For instance, when the FBI said that white nationalism is a real issue in the United States, the President refused to discuss that, Hayden highlighted.

The President also declined to distance himself from some hate groups that supported him, including the far-right Proud Boys. Trump even stated once that “there were fine people on both sides,” referring to the deadly white nationalist rally in Charlottesville in 2017.

Hayden, who served in three previous administrations, noted that re-electing Trump would be “very, very bad for America” and our international relations with the international allies.

According to the former CIA director, if Trump wins a second term, many of the current alliances will be gone, and “American will be alone.” Hayden, who spent 40 years in the Air Force, opined that Trump ”doesn’t know how to keep our country safe.”

Although he officially endorsed Joe Biden, the four-star General stated that he ”absolutely” disagrees with some of Biden’s policies, but that is ”not important.” Hayden emphasized that it is the United States that matters the most. ”Biden is a good person, while Trump is not,” Hayden concluded.

Hayden is one of the numerous Republican-affiliated intelligence and national security officers who have publicly spoken against the current President. Among all of them, Hayden stands out with his blunt discourse.

In addition to that, he was among the 70 former national security officers from different Republican administrations who supported Joe Biden the day he officially accepted the Democratic presidential nomination. During the 2016 elections, Hayden also spoke out against Donald Trump and has been criticizing him throughout his term in the White House.

From 1999 to 2005, Hayden served as a head of the National Security Administration under Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Busch. From 2006 to 2009, he was director of the CIA under Busch and shortly under Barack Obama. In 2018, Hayden got a stroke. Since then, he is suffering from aphasia, making it difficult for him to speak.

What do you think? Do you agree or disagree with Hayden’s statement that Joe Biden is a good person while Donald Trump isn’t?
