Hillary and Bill Clinton have been married for no less than 45 years now and she marked the special anniversary with a post in which she called her husband her ‘best friend!’ That’s right! It sounds like more than 4 decades after their wedding, Hillary still considers Bill to be her BFF and that is really sweet!
On October 11, which is the day they tied the knot no less than 45 years ago, both Hillary and Bill took to social media to share touching tributes to one another.
Hillary Clinton shared a throwback photo from their wedding and in the caption, she wrote: ‘Forty-five years. Never a dull moment, and you are still my best friend. [I] Love you, Bill.’
Similarly, Bill showered his wife with love online as well, writing: ‘October 11th was a beautiful day 45 years ago. Still is. The bride was beautiful too. And still is. Happy Anniversary, Hillary. I love you.’ Aww….
Alongside that sweet tribute, the man posted a more recent photo of the two of them.
Many fans shared their congratulatory messages in their comment sections.
Not only that but also, CNN journalist Lisa Ling commented as well, acknowledging that, while the Clintons’ marriage is not perfect, it’s managed to last in spite of all the ‘trials and tribulations.’
‘No matter what anyone has ever said about your relationship, it has endured. No marriage is perfect, we have all had our trials and tribulations. I have seen the deep love and respect you two have for one another. Congratulations on 45 years!’ she wrote.
Speaking of, back in 2015, during an interview with Lena Dunham, Hillary Clinton confessed that she actually rejected Bill’s marriage proposal, not once, but twice, before finally saying yes.
She explained that, at the time, she was really scared about losing her identity by marrying someone with such a ‘force of nature personality’ like Bill Clinton.
