Harry Styles was attacked by conservative pundit Candace Owens over his Vogue cover not being ‘masculine!’ However, as you might have realized by now, the former One Direction member has an army of very dedicated and open-minded fans who did not hesitate to clap back at the woman, defending their idol’s right and freedom to express his individuality however he wants.
More precisely, the singer chose to rock a dress on the cover of the famous magazine, over which he also rocked a leather jacket, mixing elements of masculinity and femininity into one, beautifully.
This is something he’s done before, Harry proving time and time again that fashion has no gender, ignoring the stereotypes linked to this social construct.
But, of course, not everyone thinks like him, one of the most vocal people in this matter being Candace Owens, who just felt like she had to say something as if the fate of the world rested on her shoulders – which, judging by her tweet, she really thinks it’s that deep!
The conservative reposted the vogue pictures of Harry wearing a dress as well as a skirt and alongside them, she wrote: ‘There is no society that can survive without strong men. The East knows this. In the west, the steady feminization of our men at the same time that Marxism is being taught to our children is not a coincidence. It is an outright attack. Bring back manly men.’
As you can imagine, aside from her like-minded followers, not many agreed with her, Candace getting a lot of backlash over her opinion.
