Halo 4 finally has a release date for Steam players, completing the Master Chief Collection’s arrival on PC. Halo 4 officially joins the PC Master Race on November 17 and with this news comes a brand new trailer.
The PC release of Halo 4 takes the 360 title to the next level with customizable keyboard and mouse support, a beautiful 60+ FSP, and revised settings specific to PC. Take a look at the video below to see it all in action:
“Now optimized for PC, experience the fully remastered campaign to embark against new foes, dust off some orbital drops in Spartan Ops, or dive right back into the multiplayer,” reads the video’s official description.
According to Halo 4’s Steam page, below is what fans can expect when the game arrives later this month:
- PC Settings/Optimizations: Halo 4 looks better than ever on PC, including up to 4K UHD at 60+ FPS.** Other PC native settings include customizable mouse and keyboard support, ultrawide support, FOV customization and more. Campaign: An ancient evil awakens and a new saga begins. Shipwrecked on a mysterious world, the Master Chief must unravel the sinister secrets of an ancient alien race to find a way home. But in his search for the truth, the Master Chief discovers that some secrets are better left buried. Multiplayer: Continue your Halo adventure with 25 multiplayer maps from the revered Halo 4, featuring an updated armor customization system that allows players to change more armor pieces than ever before, as well as countless ways to play with Forge and Theater Spartan Ops: Enlist aboard the UNSC Infinity to experience innovative episodic fiction-based co-op missions that pick up the story where Halo 4’s campaign left-off.
Microsoft has been lessening the gap between console and PCs for a while now, but that extension into the Steam library has been a massive game-changer for players. Being able to play beloved Xbox staples in a more customizable way on PC has been a treat, especially with franchises like Halo and Gears of War. With a move to Steam also means mods and as we all know, I’m a massive fan of any type of moddable content.
Now we just need 343 Industries to add Halo 5 to Steam …
Are you excited to dive back into the world of Halo 4 once more now that it’s coming to Steam via the Master Chief Collection? What are some of your favorite memories from the Xbox staple? Sound off with those thoughts in the comment section below!
