Gabrielle Union just praised the first-ever transgender state senator, Sarah McBride. Check out the motivational post that she wrote.
‘Today’s #WCW is making history as she becomes the nation’s first-ever transgender state senator. Big congrats to Sarah McBride! Her overwhelming win was also historic as it made her Delaware’s first out LGBTQ person elected to the state’s legislature,’ Gabrielle began her post.
She continued and said: ‘Before her new title, she was the secretary for the Human Rights Campaign (an organization our family works with and holds near and dear), fighting to end discrimination against LGBTQ people and realize a world that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all. The work she has done is truly extraordinary, and her success reminds any LGBTQ kid that our democracy is big enough for them too! Election season is overwhelming, and at times maddening, frustrating and heartbreaking…but wins like this can be a sign of a hopeful future! Let us lift her up in the light of goodness and hold her there.’
