When Juice WRLD died last year in December, a lot of people took it very hard, including the Atlanta rapper, Future. Hip-hop fans know Future and Juice WRLD had already worked together once before in the past, including in 2018. Future and Juice WRLD collaborated on the record, WRLD on Drugs, and it was clear there was a burgeoning relationship.

During an interview with Rolling Stone back in 2019, Future actually reflected on one of the songs he had written about lean. The rapper said Juice WRLD told him how one of his tracks inspired him to try out the drug for the first time.

Reportedly, Future’s song led Juice WRLD to try out the drug for himself, and the Atlanta rapper says it was a big deal to him. He said to himself, “oh s*t, what the f*ck have I done?” The rapper went on to say that it “really bothered” him, in fact, it bothered him a lot.

He thought about all of the other young children who he may have influenced to try out drugs, leading him to feelings of guilty self-reflection and introspection. As it was previously reported, Juice WRLD died back in December 2019 while he was on his way out of the airport.

As the story goes, Juice WRLD and his crew were arriving at the Chicago O’Hara International Airport and they had narcotics on their private plane. The police were tipped off about the jet and arrived at the scene to investigate it, which supposedly prompted Juice WRLD to take an unidentified pill to avoid being captured by the police.

Juice WRLD collapsed while he was walking out of the airport. It was definitely one of the most tragic deaths in hip-hop in recent memory, following the passing of Lil’ Peep, Mac Miller, Nipsey Hussle, and XXXTentacion.
