The Uncharted movie featuring a much younger Nathan Drake as played by Tom Holland has been a whirlwind of a deal. From going through numerous directors to a few delays, production has finally hit a smooth spot and it looks like Drake himself approves after voice actor Nolan North posted about his set visit. Holland also shared our first look at him as Drake.
North, who plays many roles in the gaming world, but especially that of Nathan Drake, took to Twitter to share our first onset image of the Uncharted movie. “Like looking into a mirror,” North captions. “Proud to have Tom Holland continuing the Drake legacy! Absolutely smashing it!”
The three images are our first look at the Uncharted movie set, including North meeting with Holland himself. While not a trailer like many are hoping for to get a taste for how Holland plays a young adult version of Nathan Drake, it is a neat little sneak peek nonetheless.
Shortly after North’s post, Holland himself took to Twitter to share our first look at the young actor in full costume:
For those that may be unaware of the Nathan Drake movie, the film will follow a tale of a much younger Drake, a version of this iconic character we’ve seen a few times throughout the game franchise. Holland will be taking the lead role alongside Mark Walhberg, who is taking the role of a younger Sully.
It will be interesting to see how it all comes together. Despite the public outcry against the Holland casting, he does look exactly like the teenager Drake we’ve seen in the games. Whether he can channel the explorer’s attitude remains to be seen, but it has potential! ‘
The Uncharted movie is launching in theaters in March 2021 pending no further delays.
