Drake Shouts Out To Lil’ Wayne Amid His 38th Birthday

There’s no question that Lil’ Wayne‘s influence on hip-hop culture has been immense. Hot New Hip Hop picked up on comments from Drake this week in which the Toronto rapper praised Lil’ Wayne and touched on the way in which Wayne has influenced his own trajectory in the business.

While Wayne has had somewhat of a controversial past at times, and even though not everyone likes him, the rap legend has devoted his life to the art form and has influenced probably millions of people in the process, including some of the most successful artists.

A great example is Drake, who almost always tells the world of the importance of Lil’ Wayne’s influence on him. On his Instagram account today, the “In My Feelings” singer-songwriter expressed his appreciation for Lil’ Wayne on his 38th birthday.

Drake shared many photos of them hanging out together, including Drake’s impression of him on Saturday Night Live. More importantly, Drake ensured viewers that Lil’ Wayne’s influence on him was immense and he wouldn’t be where he is today without him.

Drake declared on his account, “more life to the man that gave me everything I have!” Even though the performing artist has shown a lot of love and appreciation for Lil’ Wayne, fans pointed out how he never appeared on Lil’ Wayne’s latest record, Tha Carter V.

On the other hand, fans can gleefully speculate on rumors of a tour involving both rappers. Supposedly, it won’t be happening anytime in the future, but Hot New Hip Hop says there have been talks of them going on tour.

Drake isn’t the only rapper to shout out to Lil’ Wayne. In prior interviews, Atlanta, Georgia, rapper, 2 Chainz, spoke on the importance of Lil’ Wayne including something as simple as face tattoos.

2 Chains claims that before Lil’ Wayne, the idea of getting tattoos on one’s face was insane, but now it’s hard for a rapper to even be considered as such if they don’t have a face tattoo. 2 Chains also said he learned so much about the rap lifestyle and how to make it in the business from Lil’ Wayne.
