Drake Praises Machine Gun Kelly For ‘Reinventing Himself’ Following Rap Career

Drake is currently gearing up to drop his latest project, Certified Lover Boy, very soon, but that isn’t stopping him from taking time to show appreciation to other rappers in the game.

On his Instagram account on the 24th of September, MGK shared a series of messages that Drake had sent him in which he expressed his appreciation and respect for MGK “reinventing” himself. The message appeared to show Drake saying that reinventing oneself wasn’t easy, and MGK looks like he’s really enjoying it.

Drake went on to say that MGK had “always been a real one.” As it was previously reported, MGK dropped Ticket to my Downfall on Friday and it included features from people like Blackbear, Halsey, Trippie Redd, and Iann Dior.

Reportedly, MGK worked with Travis Barker from Blink-182, who produced the project in its entirety. Back in May of this year, MGK spoke with Zane Lowe on his radio show and he said he hoped the record would inspire young kids to go out and learn a real instrument.

He claimed it was rare for anyone to see an artist playing an instrument at a concert anymore. Machine Gun Kelly says people have since told him it was the first time he has ever seen someone playing the guitar live, “it’s crazy, I wanna do it.”

MGK went on to say that he was hoping people would look back on his latest record with nostalgia, the same way he reflects on the albums he used to listen to when returning back to school or during the summer holidays.

Fans of Machine Gun Kelly know he released “Bloody Valentine,” in May, with a music video that featured Megan Fox. Not long after, it was reported that Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly were dating after they were seen on multiple occasions making out in different parts of Los Angeles.

At the time, Megan was fresh out of her marriage with Brian Austin Green which lasted for over a decade. During her time with him, they had multiple kids together but they split up over the summer months.
