After The Weeknd complained about being snubbed at the Grammys, despite having a very successful year in the music industry, fellow artist, Drake took to his platform to share a message of support! In fact, the famous rapper suggested that the Grammy Awards, although very prestigious for so many years, ‘may no longer matter’ in the very near future!
Indeed, amid yearly snubs and controversies regarding the awards show, more and more people are coming to the conclusion that in today’s day and age, this system of rewarding achievement in the music industry is no longer needed.
Sure enough, it appears that Drake is one of them and he made it very clear that he is on The Weeknd’s side!
His reaction came a day after Abel tweeted about the supposed corruption of The Recording Academy.
Drake wrote that ‘I think we should stop allowing ourselves to get shocked every single year by the disconnect between impactful music and awards and accept that what was the highest form of recognition once may no longer matter to artists that exist now and ones that come after. It is like a relative you keep expecting to fix up but they just cannot change their ways.’
He went on to mention how many fans were definitely expecting The Weeknd’s massive album After Hours, to be in at least one category this year.

‘The other day I said @theweeknd was a lock for either album or for song of the year along with other reasonable assumptions and it never goes that way. This is a great time for someone to start something new we can build up over time and pass on to generations to come,’ he posted. And that was not all as Drake made sure to honor other artists snubbed by the Grammys as well by tagging them.
