Demi Lovato is super happy about the opportunity she got to host this year’s E! People’s Choice Awards to the point that she revealed it feels like a ‘pinch me moment.’ Here is what the singer had to say about getting this gig!
Just like many others, Demi had a very difficult year that could have ended really badly for her so she can’t help but think about how happy she is to simply be ‘alive’ and be on a stage again.
During a new interview on NBC News’ TODAY with Hoda and Jenna, the singer opened up about her upcoming gig and explained why it means so much to her that she gets to do it in a couple of days.
First of all, the star has quite the long history with the awards show.
She was first nominated back in 2010 in the Favorite Breakout Music Artist category and in 2012, she also won an award for Favorite Pop Artist.
‘I think my first time at the People’s Choice Awards I was performing, it was one of the first times I performed at an awards show on a main stage. And I could see people in the audience that I really respected and admired. I was so nervous,’ Demi recalled on the show.

The host wondered what ‘pinch me’ moments she is looking forward to the most at the PCAs on November 15.
That’s when she expressed gratitude over staying healthy amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
‘You know, I think just honestly, the biggest pinch me is like I am so glad that I will be on a stage at all this year. I count my blessings every day that I’ve been able to stay safe when that has not been the case for a lot of people. My biggest pinch me is being alive on a stage.’
