That being said, the rapper took to her IG stories to explain her reasons.
‘Like I said, I never pressed for GRAMMY, but y’all not gonna take away something I know I worked my a** off [for], that I deserve. If I was pressed for GRAMMY I would have submitted ‘WAP’ for this year and I did not submit it. I do not want to be submitted to award shows until I put out my album cause I think my album is so good,’ she told her many followers.

Cardi went on to note that she has been working on her brand new album for nearly two years.
She, therefore, stressed that ‘Some songs are so emotional to me because I did them during quarantine. I’m not pressed for nothing.’

Fans know that WAP was an instant hit this summer, as soon as it was released.
It was so successful that it went number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and the female emcee was obviously really happy about it.
In a video of hers, Cardi excitedly told fans while reading tweets at the time: ‘Good f***ing morning! I just woke up and look motherf***ers. Look, look, look!
