Blue Ivy Carter is now a Grammy-nominated artist as the Recording Academy has included her as a “featured artist” on Beyonce‘s song “Brown Skin Girl.” The song has been nominated for the best music video and along with Beyonce and Blue Ivy, Wizkid has also been included in the nomination. The news comes after the Recording Academy announced the nominations last month but only included Beyonce in the release. Now, the Recording Academy updated their website to ensure that Blue Ivy and WizKid would be included.

The video features a who’s who of beautiful, black women and celebrities featured in the video include Beyonce’s close friend Kelly Rowland, supermodel Naomi Campbell, and Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o.

Beyonce credited Blue Ivy on the song and she has a solo on the track and appears in the video. It definitely seems like the Recording Academy made an error by not including Blue Ivy in the Grammy nominations, to begin with. In the video, Blue Ivy sings the lyric, “I love everything about you, from your nappy curls to every single curve.” She also sings the lyric, “Brown skin girl.”

Blue Ivy is following in her mother’s footsteps and sings and dances. Her grandmother revealed that Blue also likes to apply makeup and has a talent for it. It seems she is also following her mother when it comes to earning awards and recognition.
In addition to her Grammy-nomination, Blue Ivy has become the youngest person to win an NAACP Image Award and has also won multiple Soul Train Music Awards and a BET award.
